GTA IV PC in production? - (GTASeries.com)
How do you get videogame producers to leak information about a supposedly non existing game?
I'm sure that's (about) what the guys over at Rockstarscammer have been thinking...

They emailed the supportdesk about a supposed audio problem in a leaked version of GTA IV.
It ended up in a lot of laughter and some interesting information.
Quote:
... We are unsure when the PC version of the game will be released as we are only technical support and do not receive information on the matter. I would suggest keeping an eye on www.rockstargames.com for any information. ...

This might be some interesting news, if the blog isn't a prank aswell...

new GTA IV patch - (GTASeries.com)
Rockstar patched GTA IV on both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 yesterday.

These patches fix the issues we have identified for each system, specifically multiplayer connectivity issues including freezes during certain modes, continuation when players leave matches, and bugs within races and race lobbies

GTA IV almost did have music on foot - (GTASeries.com)
MTV Multiplayer posted an article on why Rockstar took out the pre-release anounced cellphone feature which let's you listen to music through your cellphone.

Appearantly the thoughts on the subject were divided, but in the end it was favoured out.

Quote:
We still prefer the balance of music in car and the ambient world’s noise on foot, but we are constantly reviewing this stuff

Be sure to read the full story over at MTV's site.

Saints Row 2 takes on GTA IV - (GTASeries.com)
A little late as the video is almost a week old, but funny noneteheless.
Ofcourse I'm talking about the latest Saints Row 2 trailer which takes a piss on GTA IV's activities.
Though streaking and spraying sewage on pedestrians sounds like fun, don't get confused I'm 100% behind GTA over Saints Row.
You can view the video over at Gametrailers.com

Micheal Hollick (Nico Bellic) interviews - (GTASeries.com)
Several audio interviews with Micheal Hollick, aka Niko Bellic appeared online.

A while back the WJFK-Fm ''Big O & Dukes' radio show interviewed him about GTA IV.
One of the many fun facts mentioned is that he originally came in for motion capture, for a game which was called 'Frozen'.
More fun facts in the interview below, audio quality varies at times, but nice to listen through.

New York Times also posted an interview which also covers some details on the pay he received for his work, which can be found at their website

Even after release Rockstar keeps updating the GTA IV website.

You can even buy each song from the game (over 200) from Amazon MP3.

There are new wallpapers and screenshots up for grabs and the multiplayer section has been updated with 'Party', 'Cooperative' and 'competitive' modes.

Past week in updates - (GTASeries.com)
** 1 Ricky Gervais about being in GTA IV
If you've been to the comedy club in Liberty City, you've most likely seen the Ricky Gervais' virtualisation making fun about fat people.
MTV posted an interview with him about his GTA experience.

** 2 Zero punctuation takes on GTA IV
I'm sure most people know about 'Zero Punctuation',
but for those who don't, it's extreme paced no nonsense critical video game reviewing the amusing way (or something similar).
Last week was GTA IV's turn and got some deserved criticism in my opinion.

** 3 DJ Green Lantern and Vladivostok FM albums
GTA IV's the 'The beat 102.7' radio station featured 8 songs produced exclusively for GTA IV by DJ Green Lantern, which are now joined by 8 new songs 'inspired by the game' to fill an album to be released digitally through Amazon and Itunes on May 20th and on a physical disc sometime later.

They already released Vladivostok FM (also with additional songs) succesfully through the same digital distribution channels.

** 4 Roman for rent?
This is an odd one:
Jason Zumwalt did Roman Bellic's voice in GTA IV.
Recenty he added a video on his youtube channel titled 'rent Roman'
which has been removed by the owner.

Reason? unknown, but my guess would be problems with Rockstar or even more likely becuase the video simply isn't funny...
However, it has resurfaced elsewhere on youtube if you've got some time to waste kill...

Uwe Boll wants to do GTA movie - (GTASeries.com)
In an interview with NYMAG about the upcoming Postal movie, they talked to Uwe Boll about the possibility of a Grand Theft Auto movie.

According to Boll, he is the perfect director for a GTA movie.
Quote:
Grand Theft Auto would be super interesting for me, and I think I would actually be the right guy to do it, because my movies are all bloody and violent and I don't have a problem with action scenes

I've expressed my dislike for a GTA movie before, and will continue doing so untill proven otherwise, but if it has to be done, they better not choose Boll as director.
Though I admit to being curious about the Postal movie, I would rather suggest the stop Uwe Boll petition.

GTA IV set Guinness world records - (GTASeries.com)
I'm sure it hasn't gone unnoticed that GTA IV did very well in sales from day one, but now it's officially documented in the Guiness World Records gamer's edition.
GTA IV holds these records:
* Highest Revenue Generated by an Entertainment Product in 24 Hours
* Highest Grossing Video Game in 24 Hours

Grand Theft Auto IV has crushed the competition by selling 3.6 million units and earning $310 million in its first day of release, earning Guinness World Records™ for the Highest Grossing Video Game in 24 Hours and the Highest Revenue Generated by an Entertainment Product in 24 Hours
